"Nekrocosmo : Nocturnal Kali Yuga" released in 2015 is the 5th full length album by Astarium, a one man symphonic black metal band from Russia. To be honest, I was quite surprised by this release so here we go.

When I started listening to "Nekrocosmo : Nocturnal Kali Yuga, I have this unknown but mixed up feeling that this is an album full of surprises and elements in it. However, this time Astarium's effort is quite blurry and confusing in terms of the musical direction generally. The songs in the album is somehow repetitive and quite in a "happy mood" which is a very disappointing highlight. The flow reminds me of circus music and funfair rides and there's nothing good with that. It's an atmospheric and symphonic album but the feel doesn't get right when what you expect the most from a symphonic black metal release like this is pure darkness and evil sounding black metal, period. This album is too polished and the production side didn't perform well to make sure all criteria is checked before finalizing the product.

Honestly, Astarium really need to double check their ideas and concept, from every aspect possible to ensure that their upcoming releases doesn't end up like this one. Even for a change of appetite in extreme music menu, still "Nekrocosmo : Nocturnal Kali Yuga" won't be in the list of options made available.
