Brazillian black metal duo Patria showed a very daring effort to excel in the black metal scene with "Liturgia Haeresis", their third full length album.Almost raw yet melodic, this album somehow reflects their Norwegian black metal worship to stand tall from the rest of South American black metal bands.

Musically they have the guts to use the major Scandinavian black metal elements that are popular in the 90's but still manage to push forward their identity through its raw trademark without overdoing it.Crushing and penetrating raw guitar works blends with the melody in between the chaotic arrangement, Patria's musicianship is recognized for its rawness but to be honest there are room and space to at least produce it with a much better result. Bass guitars are hidden deep in the songs structure which is quite dissapointing but still considered decent for a black metal particularly with raw elements. As for the drums, they are not that tight but played fairly to suit the flow of the arrangement. Triumpsword's harsh vocals really covered the weak spots in this album but that doesn't seem enough to put this album on top of everything else.

Many others argued and questioned Patria's move to cover Black White Day originally by Amorphis in this album but what more can we say? "Liturgia Haeresis" is just another normal black metal release slightly above average and dedicated to all 90's black metal worshippers out there and for those who crave the old spirit of black metal in this modern era.
